We are located in the famous ' Plaza Independencia' right in front of the main entrance to the 'Old Town' ( Puerta de la Ciudadela). This is the entrance to the old fortress of Montevideo.
Now it´s the most turistic area of our capital. This part of town is plenty of Museums, a Catedral of 250 years old, a Theater 152 years old ( Teatro Solis ), The Cabildo of Montevideo and the ' Peatonal Sarandí', the most visited street in Montevideo. The building of the hostel, which falls back to the end of the XIX century, combine an antique colonial architecure with a recycled modernism that has preserved its value of its history in a very priviliged and unique area of Montevideo.
Facilities.
The hostel has more than thirty rooms, with and without private bathroom: we offer singles, doubles, triples, quadruples, and dorms. We have a beautiful central patio, covered with an original skylight which allows it to open up and discover a hidden backyard. To have a good time with friends, experiences, foods and drinks: The Madhouse Pub, our bar.
Also you must visit The Parlament, Rodó Park, The Centenario ( National Stadium and Museum of Soccer), Botanic Park, Pocitos beach, The Zoo, Portones de Carrasco, The Obelisco, El Prado, ' El mercado de los Artesanos' and the ' Antel Tower'. The highest building of Montevideo to have the best views and bring home a great Postcard!
