Looking for the 'real' Rio? Avoid the souless high rise hotels of Copacabana and Ipanema and come and stay at Casa 579, a stunning boutique guesthouse hotel and pousada, located in the beautiful colonial district of Santa Teresa. Casa 579 is situated on a hillside above the city centre in Santa Teresa, Rio's sustainable tourism area and feels far away from the high rise hustle and bustle in the city below; yet with a bus stop and a tram stop 30 seconds from the house, the city centre, beaches, sights and nightlife are just minutes away.
The house has been the site of fashion shoots thanks to the stunning views see the Cristo, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Guanabara Bay from the panoramic roof terrace with 180 degree views Rio . The house also has a spacious and comfortable communal space / living area, and a great choice of accommodation from ensuite single/double/triple rooms through to one larger room sleeping up to ten.
Many of the rooms have views to either the Cristo, Sugar Loaf mountain or both and are spacious with high ceilings. Our Mangueira and Porta da Pedra rooms share a terrace with hammocks from which you can enjoy the view to the Sugar Loaf mountain. Our Sambadromo room is a large room that spans the entire part of the lower part of the house that sleeps up to ten people in single beds, with plenty of storage space, two ensuite bathrooms and two walk-in closets. This room provides a great accommodation option for those on a budget but wanting the style and comfort of a guest-house.
Finally, our roof-top terrace provides the perfect place to grab some sun or enjoy the 180 degree views whilst enjoying one of Brazil´s famous caipirinhas.
