Please note that the Surf Camp is open during the high season only Dec 20th until the carnival, outside these dates you will be staying in suites 1, 2, 3 and Air conditioned suite (Air conditioned room) which are located at Rua Hercilio Nicolau dos Santos number 380, which is the main cobble stone Road in Guarda do Embau locate behind Bar do Osni who will be your host.
Remember that neither him or his wife Neide speak English!
Please note that there are no banks or exchange places in Guarda do Embau, so please make sure you change enough money for the period of your stay including the rent as you will have to pay the balance in full in cash on your arrival, otherwise you will have to lose half a day going back to Florianopolis 35 miles (50 kms).
Please note that the air conditioned suite, and suites 1, 2, and 3 are not within the Surf camp, but on another property nearby, but you will have if you want access to the Surfcamp site. only during the high season, December 20th until the carnival
Surfcamp e Chale Gel e Susanne, is owned by a Brazilian / Swedish surfing couple.
The surf camp is situated in the surfer's paradise and fisherman's village of Guarda do Embau which is located within the National Park of Serra do Tabuleiro. This park is situated approximately 35 miles (50 kilometers) south of the capital island of Santa Catarina state, Florianopolis. Our strong part of the business is the camping area for approximately 120 tents. (For people with their own tents we charge approximately US$ 4 per person). In the last five years Guarda do Embau has become a major destination for tourists from Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Although still virtually unknown outside the surfing community, it is getting an increasing number of visitors from as far a field as Australia and Europe.
Along with some tents to rent we have a self contained studio flat fitted with ceiling fan, a fully fitted kitchen with full size fridge, and a hot shower (suitable for four people). It has two single beds and we can arrange if necessary two extra mattresses double or single to put on the floor.

We also have a humble but comfortable wooden hut suitable for 4 people, it has two single beds and we can arrange if necessary two extra mattresses, double or single to put on the floor, it also has a wall fan, but the kitchen, barbecue, toilet and shower for this property are the ones in the camping area.

In both cases of accommodation above, you also have access to the facilities at the campsite such as the kitchen fridge, (The kitchen in the campsite does have limited utensils), barbecue house where you can buy and barbecue your own fish or meat, and the outdoor exercise area where we have a sit up bench, a chin up and a parallel bar for those who are not willing to relax too much during their holidays! We also rent kayaks, sand board and surfboards and arrange surfing lessons.

Guarda do Embau and the surrounding areas are also becoming known for its sand dunes - ideal for sand boarding.

conditions: We recommend you book well in advance for SURF CAMP PACKAGES to avoid disappointment as we are only open during high season, 20th of December to carnival, and our accommodation is limited to 24 people, unless you are willing to camp or we get you alternative accommodation in our friend's guest house SURF CAMP PACKAGE FOR THE CHALET: Based on a minimum of two sharers, and minimum of one week. US $ 750 dollars per person per week, three sharers US $ 700 per person per week, four sharers US $ 650 dollars per person per week. (Multiple stay available). SURF CAMP PACKAGE FOR WOODEN HUT: Based on a minimum of two sharers, and minimum of one week. US $ 550 dollars per person per week, three sharers US $ 500 dollars per person per week, four sharers US $ 400 dollars per person per week. (Multiple stay available). CONDITIONS OF BOOKING: Bookings above must be paid 50% and funds cleared before place is secured, balance to be paid on arrival in cash, unless you prefer to pay it in full when making your booking, but refund policy will still apply as if you had paid only 50%, so in case of cancellation you would only forfeit the minimum amount. Please note that in case of cancellation of one of the sharers, new tariff will apply to remaining number of people. If total cancellation is made before three weeks of arrival date, 20 per cent of booking fee will be withheld plus any bank charges for refund transfer, if cancellation is made before two weeks of arrival date, fifty per cent booking fee will be withheld plus any bank charges for refund transfer, if cancellation is made within the week of the arrival date, the full booking fee will be forfeited. Packages above include pick up from and to the airport, breakfast, (We have a deal for a buffet breakfast only, with another guest house served until 1 pm), as we find most people prefer to be able to try different food when in a foreign land, whereas all inclusive deals ties you up to eat at the same place every day; which can be a bad deal, particularly when considering that eating out in Brazil is very cheap. Activities included are: Surfing gear (Excludes wetsuits, which is necessary sometimes, as this is a very personal thing like under pants, and most people will urinate in it when surfing), one and half hours surfing lesson per day, plus free surfing time, trekking, ride to other beaches and water fall. Excludes flights to and from Brazil. Please note description of accommodation below to ensure it is what you are expecting, the only difference to description below, will be that you will be provided with as many beds as people in the group, and linen will also be provided.
