Surrounded by the beautiful palm trees, tropical rainforests, pineapple fields and ocean views, Honolulu is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the United States.
As the capital city of the Aloha State, Honolulu has a population of almost 400,000. The city boasts numerous cultural and historical attractions that provide an insight into the Hawaiian way of life, such as the Bishop Museum, Iolani Palace, and Pearl Harbor/Arizona Memorial.
Another activity that will keep you busy is shopping from the International Marketplace, which is best for local souvenirs, to the Ala Moana Shopping Center, which is renowned for being the world's largest open-air shopping complex.
Additionally there are numerous restaurants where you can taste the ethnic cuisines that reflect the island's diversity. You may also choose to attend a luau and sample traditional Hawaiian foods.
