I felt like coming home when I arrived at El Qijote, Marta and Emilio gave me the warmest welcome I've ever experienced in a hostel! I spent 3 nights in a dorm but in a double bed nevertheless. The bathroom ws extremely clean as was the rest of the hostel and it comes at great rates. Everything central is at walking distance, and in the little shop they run (which also serves as the reception for the hostel) they sell the basics like water and toothpaste, as well as Marta's delicious home-made tortas!! I highly recommend you stay at this place, it's an experience in itself...

Great price to be near the center and heart of Oaxaca City. The owners are nice and caring people, they make you feel like home. In front of the hostel you can find tours to historic sites and two blocks down you can find the central market. Great location and great accomadation.

I must really recomend you this hostel!
If you plan to go to Oaxaca City, its the best place to stay.

I saw several hostels in Oaxaca City and El Quijote is quite the best. The owners are friendly and help you in every way. Cheap, nice and most important, clean bathrooms and rooms. They also have big beds, a kitchen and a nice common area.

hello everybody. this is the most clean and comfortable place [dorms] that i have been i really feel that even if you don't like dorms you can find a peace a quiet here. The owners are really nice and will help in any case. i felt here like in home. the private room is also very beautiful. if you come to oaxaca check it out its worth it...

being at el quijote was an extremely great experience. the owners of el quijote were the best tourists guide that i have ever had. the place is kept extra clean and the services that i needed were always available. the place is in a great location: near from the main square (el zocalo). just across the hostel, there is a terminal that takes you to montebello and so many other tours. undoubtedly, next time i go to Oaxaca i will stay at el Quijote.

This hostel is a great option for those who are looking for a very clean, safe, and comfortable room without paying for an expensive hotel. The location is excellent because it is within walking distance from the Zocalo and right across the street from the tour office that goes to Monte Alban, Mitla, etc! And Emilio the owner is a very nice, honest, and helpful person. You shouldnt pass this hostel up.

A nice place to stay and the location is perfect when you want to catch the bus to Monte Alban, which in my eye is an absolute must if you are in Oaxaca. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful and is able to give insight tips on Oaxaca and surroundings. He brought me personally to the airport as a gesture which shows his attitude of "the customer is king"! Enjoy your stay!!

After I left Oaxaca, I heard the location of the hotel was not considered very safe. However, I never had any problem and it was easy and quick to get to my destinations from the hostel. The owners were very friendly and the place was very nice looking and always clean.

Wonderful friendly staff. The layout is fantastic, no bunk beds in the dormitory. Immaculately clean. The couple that owns it, is extremely friendly. They would go out of their way to make sure your needs are met. No curfew is in effect so that's always a bonus. During breakfast they would always give us fun things to do and try through out the day so it was like having an information centre at the hostel :). Lovely place, lovely staff. Only no lockers are available, but the dormitory is locked when there is no one around.

Great place to go, the people is really friendly and you can live the real Mexico.

The dinners in company of the people in the hostel are interesting and fun.
