A Baz Bus stop in the Ezulwini 'Valley of Heaven', 15min from Mbabane or Manzini. Within walking distance of two wildlife reserves, Swazi Queen Mother's Royal Residence, the Swazi Cultural Village plus the legendary Cuddle Puddle Hot Springs.
Legends is known as the Kingdom's 'within walking distance' hostel and is definitely the best located for a wide range of activities.
On this note, Legends is a place for active-minded travellers. The hostel's patron saint is Leni the Legend, an ancestral spirit who is THE SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE.
Legends is staffed solely by local Swazi folk who help out with tips on local bus and taxi rides, craft market best deals, shopping for provisions and evening excursions.
Despite being only 500m from a large shopping centre, the lodge is in a quiet location right at the base of a mountain (Sheba's Breasts) with trees and natural areas all around. The National Museum, the National Stadium (soccer matches galore), King Sobhuza II Memorial Park and Mantenga waterfall are all close by too (YES - walking distance!) There are 15 different restaurants all within 4km - so plan to do some real feasting.
The lodge has spacious dormitories, private twin and double rooms, camping, a self-catering kitchen and braai facilities. Legends also offers Internet access, TV, payphone, a bar and cheap tasty breakfast options.
Most popular activities are: white-water rafting (best rapids south of the Zambesi!), Adventure Caving (massive Gobholo Caves - still 95% unexplored), quad trails at the Devils Cauldron, and hiring a mountain bike to cruise around and observe local village life.
