Thank you for checking us out! I am Mara, originally from Ireland and I want you to spend your time in Luxor at Mara House. We are not the cheapest but the saying 'you get what you pay for' is nowhere truer than it is here in Egypt,

In a world economy where 'customer care' seems to have gone out the window I have built a house where, from owner to cleaner, we are all BIG into customer care.

I started out here as a tourist myself and in every organising decision I take here I constantly ask myself 'If I was the guest...would I like this? Would I like to go there or do that? Would I like if that happened to me?'

Soooo, we will do out best to cater to all your needs quickly and efficiently and WE WILL NOT HASSLE YOU ABOUT TOURS OR SHOPPING! We are up front about the cost of our accommodation and tours. You will not be worn down and upset at the end of your stay at Mara House because of hidden extras sprung on you everyday and we will not be taking you anywhere to make 'commission' on you!

Mara House is a private house which we have endeavoured to furnish in a style which reminds you what country you are in and we do the same with our food......From 26 August 2008 our Salahadeen Restaurant will provide a traditional, authentic 4 course Egyptian Feast every night at 8pm in luxurious surroundings and the Salahadeen fully-licensed bar will open at 6pm.

The rooftop coffee-shop/bar where breakfast is served is open from 8am to midnight. For anyone leaving earlier breakfast is served in your suite at your requested time

Check-out is 12noon but you are welcome to use all facilities until you actually leave. If you are sightseeing on your last day and leaving late in the day or evening we provide shower facilities and room to freshen up before you go.

FREE internet access in the lobby if you have your own laptop, if not there are lots of internet cafes nearby.

Free travel and sightseeing advice.
Tours available if requested and organized for times to avoid the crowds from the cruise boats and package holidays where possible.
