Situated in Swedish Lapland , opposite the frozen lake ( in winter ) and near to the ski lifts, Tärnaby Backpackers ( hostel ), Bed & Breakfast & Apartments are newly furnished and have dormitory rooms, single rooms or double rooms. Tärnaby produced Alpine Skiing Legend Ingemar Stenmark , current Women's World Champion Anja Pärson and recent champion Jens Bygmark. It's a small village with a big alpine tradition.
We also have a choice of 4 bed ,6 bed , or 8 bed private self-contained apartments available nearby. ( choose the '4 Bed Private ensuite ' OR 6 bed private ensuite´ or '8 bed private ensuite' under 'type' above. NOTE *ensuite* is used here to indicate that your group/family doesn't share a bathroom with other guests- So there is one bathroom per apartment .. NOT a bathroom per bedroom . )
You can choose to have breakfast included with your accommodation or choose self-catering. There is a fully equipped kitchen for guest use as well as a TV room for relaxing. The lounge room has A DVD player with a selection of films for your enjoyment and has beautiful views of the lake and mountains. It is also newly furnished and decorated. The guest kitchen adjoins the lounge room and has a breakfast table taking full advantage of the views. A very cosy and friendly hostel run by an Australian and Swedish couple.
A newly built section opened in March 2006 ! This has now become our café-restaurant with beautifully made and scrumptious home baked cakes and meals. When we are in full season, after café closing it can be used as a large common room. ( Depending on guests needs )With Wi-Fi internet access available, it's perfect to relax and catch up with home or business.
A new outdoor ' barrel ' 10-seat sauna is another new addition.
There is ample off-street parking and a motor warmer socket available for the winter months.
We have snow scooters available for rental in winter and canoes, boats, mountain bikes in summer.
Guided activities organised such as snow scooter safaris or dog sledding in winter and canoe safaris, mountain bike tours and guided hiking in summer.
A Ski Bus can pick you up from the door to take you Tärnaby ski slopes (between 800 and 1500 mtrs away ) or to our sister ski-resort of Hemavan .

I de norrländska skogarna, på andra sidan sjön, och just vid backarna i Tärnaby finner ni oss - Tärnaby Backpackers (hostel) & Bed & Breakfast. En mysig verksamhet som ständigt växer och utvecklas. Vi är ett personligt par som driver det hela, och vi har våra rötter här, i Örnsköldsvik, England och så långt borta som Australien.

Välj mellan enkelrum, sovsal eller dubbelrum. Frukost eller självbetjäntning. Vi har fullt utrustade kök och mysiga vardagsrum med filmer och DVD. Böcker finns även tillgängliga att köpa eller låna i husen.
Privata lägenheter utrustade med bastu om man vill söka sig mer mot foten av laxfjället. Och för oss som befinner oss här nere vid vattnet finns självklart en egen vedeldad bastu som värms upp vid förfrågan.

Det nyöppnade bokcaféet är beläget precis vid entrén. Med böcker såsom pocketböcker, nyheter och bästsäljare, eller om man föredrar gamla, med omsorg, slitna klassiker.
så varför inte ta en latte innan backen, skoterturen, kanotpaddlingen eller efter bastun? Vi har öppet året runt och anpassar också våra aktiviteter därefter. Snöskotrar och liftkort med rabatt under vintrarna. Kanoter, båtar och cyklar finns till uthyrning under somrarna.

conditions: APARTMENT RENTAL : Generally in Sweden, when you rent an apartment or cabin, you are required to clean it upon departure. This keeps the costs down for you, the guests. However we quite understand you're on holiday and may prefer someone to clean the apartment for you. The cost for this service is between 300 and 700 SEK depending on the size of the apartment and how many guests. Linen and towels are also not included in the price. If you require linen and or towels, you may rent them from our reception.
