It may have an ex-nazi headquarters as a dowdy hotel but Boninj is a fantastic lake about 10km on from Bled. As well travelled in Europe you MUST track down one of the best restaurants in the country (and undiscovered) called Pizzeria Rupa. Bear right at the junction at the foot of the lake, carry on through stunning villages for 2-3km and it will be there on your left. I defy anyone to find better value or quality anywhere else in the country.
