Location AND Value - The easiest Hostel to find when traveling in from Edinburgh Airport or Glasgow. You don't pay extra for breakfast or tea/coffee or maps here!!!

For our stag and hen nights we can book Club Class Party-bus Pub Tours, Paint-balling all starting from £25per person and many other entertainments.
Only a 15 minute walk from here is Edinburgh Castle and the famous royal mile that is a must see. Right on our doorstep we have the wonderful St Mary's Cathedral, a popular landmark, and 5 minutes from our door is Princes Street. An easy 10 minute stroll is the infamous Grassmarket Pub area. There are a range of bars and restaurants within 100 metres and a little further are the football and rugby stadiums - Tynecastle and Murrayfield. We are also opposite the cities busiest bus interchange so you'll have no problems transporting yourself out of the neighborhood.

Please note:
The female dorm is only available for booking by females. If a male books this room your booking will be canceled and the deposit will not be refunded! All other dorms are mixed sex.
*Triple rooms consist of lower double bed and upper single bed.
*Family room consists of 3 single bunks and 1 lower double bunk.
Throughout the first few months of 2008 we will be decorating and upgrading our facilities to achieve a 4* standard. Please bear with us when work starts in Mid January.
All Groups over 8 Persons may be asked for a £20 per person cash deposit on arrival. This will be refunded in whole or part after rooms are checked. Please see terms and conditions.
Important notice for New-Year period 2007/8:
We are offering a 4 night minimum stay from £40 per person per night. (£160+ pp for those 4 nights.) All prices are subject to change. Over Hogmanay (New Year's) all cancellations must be made 14 days before your arrival date or you will be charged the full amount!

Group and New Years reservations see above. 1.c. Group bookings of more than 8 people cannot be canceled within 7 days of arrival date and the FULL cost of the entire stay will be charged. 1.d. The breakfast provided is free of charge and may be withdrawn at any time. Due respect to other guests should be shown whilst staying in our hostel. We have a traffic light system for all deposits. One warning from staff - Green, 2nd Warning - Amber = Complete loss of all Security deposit, 3rd Warning = Immediate removal from the premises. Bringing guests back to the Hostel is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the hostel of the entire group with no refund. 2.b. Any costs not covered by the security deposit may be taken from the Original Credit Card used to make the reservation or otherwise invoiced by arrangement. Ultimately the person who made the reservation is responsible for any and all costs required to be paid to West End Hostel or its Named representative. 2.c. A log will be kept of any incidents and where possible cctv footage will be used as evidence in any case. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who we feel is unfit through alcohol or drug use or may present a threat to any guest or staff.
