I stayed at the bulldog in Amsterdam. The first night I stayed in a large dorm. It wasn´t that great. But the next night i was meeting a girl I know ,also visiting Amsterdam. We were moved into a room that had cable TV a great view of the canal and the red light district. plus there were less people in the room. It also had a double bunkbed. you save money by getting the bunk bed if youre comfortable sleeping next to your friend. I had never before in my life seen a double sized bunk! The disadvantages is you can only take 1 shower a day. it takes tokens. Plus in the summer it is very ,very hot in the rooms. Some of the staff may seem mean spirited but there actually just jokers so dont be offended. The bulldog also has free breakfast in their "coffeshop" below. Enjoy the blaring techno at 9:am. All in all i would recommend the bulldog. It was better then Bob's hostel.
