Ballyphehane the former market garden farm towns-land, is nestled comfortably beneath Cork Airport and cushioned by Turners Cross the Lough and Togher. It has what has come to be know as the most beautiful street in all of Ireland which is Pearce Road which annually breaks into shimmering cascades of legally blond pinkish hues, cheery blossoms breaking at their bows with each tree vying for the title of the most beautiful. Most of the primary streets are named after fallen republican heros such as, Connolly, Plunkett, Pearce, Clark, Kent to mention but a few. The people are extremely friendly, with their wonderfully lilting musical accents. Cork people don't talk, they sing! The famous Dolphins play at Musgrave Park which is located on Pearce road. Other sports such as hurling, gaelic football, soccer, harriers and pigeon racing are all common place in this wonderful community. Young Rubi from Connolly road should be carefully watch as he is the Irish Rivera crossed with Salvatore Dali, great potential, highly gifted artist.
