Very good for an independent hostel! I would stay there again. Good location, friendly staff, no curfew, clean showers and toilets, self catering kitchen and tv room. The dorm is eleven pounds per night. You can buy cheap breakfast from the hostel; for example, cereal and tea runs 70 pence. Walk out of the train station, turn right; turn left onto Micklegate and look for the sign near the church. A couple odd things about this hostel: the dining room doubles as the smoker's lounge: yuk! Only dairy products are allowed in the kitchen refridgerator. Some of the bunks were rickety but I just asked to be moved and it was no problem.
