Lydford is a lovely village which lies a bit north east of Tavistock

Its three sights are its church, its castle and its gorge, the last being spectacularly fast and steep for a tiny river, the Lyd. Near here is Brentor with its hilltop church which was supposed to have been erected on the first place spotted by a lost sailor to redeem a vow.
