Huddersfield is located in the northern part of England, close to Manchester. It's a nice town with a few goof sights and worth a visit.

Dominating the Huddersfield skyline, Castle Hill is the main sight. It has been occupied since the Stone Age. The Victoria Tower was built in 1898/9 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Queen Victorias coronation. Visitors can take in the panoramic views across Huddersfield and the surrounding countryside.

Other sights include the Kirklee gallery(paintings by Francis Bacon, LS Lowry, Henry Moore, Graham Sutherland, and members of the Camden Town group).a ride on Kirklees Light Railway a Steam Train, which will carry you through the lovely South Pennines on an old country branch line and Tolson Memorial Museum.

Finally you can see if you can take a boat trip on the canals, the broad canal and the narrow canal which boasts Standedge Tunnel, the longest and highest in the country, standing 654ft (196m) above sea level and 3 miles 135yrds (4950m) long.

What was once busy docks and warehouses is now home to moorings and a popular canalside restaurant and pubs.
