Welcome to Albergue do Porto YH. Created by backpackers, we provide everything you'd expect from a first class hostel and much more besides A very beautiful house built in 1911 on portuguese style, the hostel is cosmopolitan and has retained tremendous character, combined with the latest modern facilities.
The location is perfect! The Porto da Barra beach is just some steps from the hostel, a perfect beach without rocks and waves, ideal for relax... If you prefer beach with waves, you can walk to Farol da Barra beach, very good to surf. In front of a supermarket, door steps from bars, restaurants, disco, theaters, shopping center and everything that you need to enjoy the day and the night life.
We have accommodation in dorms and double rooms.
The dorms are very fresh, for 4, 6, 8 & 10. With attention to detail, we've made every bunk spacious and all guests have a free individual locker. Individual backpackers and groups are equally welcome and we have female and male only rooms plus group mixed rooms, available on request.
The double rooms are for those that want the socialbility of the hostel but the privacy and the comfort of a hotel. All double rooms are equiped with air conditioning, international cable tv and bathroom with hot shower and toilet.
Facilities include for free TV lounge/games room with international cable tv, pool table room with music, TV + DVD+karaokê, weekly bbq parties, music playing throughout the hostel, laundry, large equipped dining kitchen, baggage store, full heating, wi-fi internet access, onsite internet, cable television in all private rooms, out-side seating, many hammocks and 24hr information desk with details of all local attractions and the best trips.
Anything you need to know, our friendly staff will be happy to help. We will always be here with the best suggestions for days or nights out in Salvador. If you´re looking for culture we have capoeira shows, candomblé cerimonies, portuguese classes, and provide more information on whats going on in Salvador.
The daily rates include also a brilliant breakfast - BUFFET - without question: Great selection including coffee, milk, chocolate, teas, juices, brazilian fruits, biscuits, jelly, bread, cheese, ham and cakes as well. WONDERFUL!!!
Clean bedding is provided and we have no curfew. We know what it's like hanging around, waiting for the shower at hostels, so we've put in plenty of bathrooms with hot showers to make things more comfortable. The other detail is the color of the bathrooms: WHITE. We want to show the cleanless!
A fully equipped kitchen with plenty of space to create your own culinary delights. We provide free tea and coffee 24 hours a day in the communal kitchen and all our products are fair trade.
The hostel is open throughout the year and we have a presence on msn 24 hours a day - we can respond to any request at any time of day.

In the event of total or partial cancelations there will be no refunds of, or deductions applied to, these advance payments.
PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS - Instructions on how to make down payments will be sent by e-mail as soon as we receive a booking request. Local transfers shall be made through direct bank deposit. International transfers shall be made through WESTERN UNION. Expenses with deposits and transfers shall be borne by sender alone and are not refundable or deductible from de total amount to be transferred to secure bookings.
