Wuhan, the "Homeland of White Clouds and Yellow Crane", is composed of three parts: Hankou, Hanyang and Wuchang. Not many people go out of their way to get to Wuhan, one of Chinas largest cities, but a lot of people pass through the place since it is the terminus of the Yangtze Ferries from Chongqing.
Wuhan is now enjoying a boom in foreign and local investment that may help it match up with the sparkling cosmopolitan citadels of Nanjing and Shanghai.
However, there are many scenic spots and historical sites in Wuhan to visit, including the European-style buildings remained along the Yanjiang Dadao, the 1,700 years old Yellow Crane Tower, one of the three famous towers in South China, the East Lake whose natural beauty rivals that of the West Lake in Hangzhou; the TV Tower on Tortois Hill known as the highest mast of Asia; the ancient Guiyuan Temple, and the modern International Amusement Park.
