Nestled in a very small,easily-overlooked side alley north of storied Ju'er Hutong, this charming little hostel offers a quiet, well-lit retreat from the bustle of the middle of everything. A handful of rooms-double for RMB 300 and single for RMB 200 surround a stone-floored atrium filled with plants, natural light, books in various languages, wi-fi and a small bar. No full meals here, but you'll not want for good food in this neighborhood, and the relative peace and quiet you'll find here after a long day is worth it.
Beijing Hutongren Hotel is not far from Beijing axis road, locates in the famous Gulou heritage conservation area, adjacent to Tiananmen Square, the National Palace Museum(Forbidden City), Drum Tower, Beihai, Shicha Lake, Wangfujing commercial center and other well-known attraction. It takes only 30 minutes if you drive to the capital international airport and just 15 minutes to Beijing Station. Lots of bus stations are near our hotel. The Hutongren Hotel hides behind the street, deeply and quietly in a Hutong (historical narrow alley) and Si He Yuan (a kind of old style Chinese house), full of Beijng's local taste. It impresses with its beautiful garden courtyard, super clean culture style bathrooms, brand new bedding and facilities, individually controlled air-conditioning, city center location and super convenient public transportations, considerable service and traveling arrangements, etc. Of course, warm English speaking staff is more essential.
Living in this hostel can help you get a better understanding of Beijing's local life. You could never get the same feeling and traveling experience from any other places. Wandering in the long and puzzling hutong, smiling to lovely local neighbors, seeing the blue sky in the roof courtyard, hearing the whistle from swiftly flying-by doves, watering the garden, walking the dog, the Temple side house gives you 'a glimpse of what life in the city is really like'.
