I have just returned from Kenya where i stayed at Kikuyu Lodge west of Nairobi for a couple of nights. I notice you mention them on yor website and therefore thought you may appreciate some feedback in case you send other tourists to the fate that awaited me!
This is not a professionally managed place by any stretch of the imagination, the website is very deceptive. The lodge is on a busy noisy main road and the owners are extremely hard to get hold of - no email or phone connection worked for days and days! We wasted many hours trying to book and trying to find the place in a taxi. It is not secure and located in a dodgey area.
Above all the manager Trevor Kent was extrememly unpleasant to me when i tried to give feedback about the difficulties we had had in contacting him. I have never been reduced to tears in my 12 years of world travel by the vitriol of one man, he is unstable, disorganised and disinterested and runs the business extremely badly. It ruined our time in Nairobi and i would hate for them to ruin anyone elses.
Deal with extreme care if tempted to go!
